About my Loft
Hi and welcome! I am Emily, an artist and oil painter living in Colorado’s beautiful Roaring Fork Valley. This loft is my home. I live here full time during the summer and fall, and I derive immeasurable positive energy and inspiration from this space and the beautiful surroundings. During the winter and spring I travel and open my home to guests like you, and I hope you enjoy the space as much as I do!
LOCATION
You will find the loft at 28 Widget Street in Basalt, Colorado, which is conveniently located 1.5 miles from the Willits town center (where you will find Whole Foods, City Market, Starbucks, as well as a host of restaurants, shopping, and entertainment options) and 2.6 miles from old town Basalt (a lovely town with terrific dining and shopping). The loft is an easy 17 miles (20 minutes on clear roads) from the Aspen Airport, and is convenient to skiing at all of the Aspen/Snowmass mountains. The loft is also located a half mile from access to the Rio Grande Trail for walking/jogging.
LAYOUT
At 1350 square feet, my top level corner loft condo is spacious and bright, arranged with the sleeping area upstairs and open living, kitchen, dining, office and bathroom areas downstairs. The upstairs sleeping area consists of one queen bed (firm mattress), multiple dressers and open clothing racks for clothes storage. The single bathroom on the lower level is nicely appointed with a shower and modern sink/vanity.
KITCHEN
My kitchen is well stocked with cooking and baking essentials, including an electric oven and stovetop, microwave, toaster oven, blender, mixer, refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker & coffee grinder, and electric tea kettle. Please note that there is not a dishwasher - I kindly ask my guests to ensure you thoroughly wash and dry any dishes you use and put them away before your departure.
ADDITIONAL AMENITIES
The loft also offers fast Wi-Fi, a clothes washer/dryer, a television with Amazon Prime access (and feel free to log in to your Netflix account), office desk and chair, a bluetooth speaker and board games.
PARKING
There is one assigned parking space. I highly recommend bringing your own car. Public transportation is available, but not terribly convenient.
SKI/SNOWBOARD STORAGE
Please leave skis and snowboards outdoors on the patio railing or in your vehicle. Or utilize Aspen/Snowmass’ excellent ski storage and concierge options. You are welcome to bring your boots inside - please keep them on the boot tray by the front door.
ACCESSIBILITY
The loft is located on the top floor of the condo building, accessed by an exterior staircase. There is also an elevator at the opposite end of the building (not shown in my photographs). In order to access the sleeping area, you must climb the interior staircase shown in the photographs.
OTHER NOTES
As you notice from the photos, the loft is light and bright. There are no blackout curtains/shades on the windows and the upper skylight windows have no shades. Nighttime in Basalt is dark, but there will still be ambient light visible, and some distant road noise audible in the loft. If you are light or noise sensitive for sleeping, I recommend you bring eye mask and earplugs.
